Reading done ahead of schedule and now the waiting begins

I've finished rereading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Now I just have to sit and stew for a whole week while I wait for the Deathly Hallows. And during this time I have to avoid all "rumors" because I will be so pissed if I know what happens before reading it. Last time I had heard that in the area where the book was being printed they stopped taking bets on Dumbledore dying and then I pretty much knew what was going to happen. I held out hope.
I was thinking of writing down all the things I think are or aren't going to happen but there's just too much to think about. Although, I do think it's amazing that J.K. Rowling is able to keep quiet about what's going to happen. If it were me so much stuff would have accidentally slipped. And of course I would be bursting at the seems to tell people.
Aside from keeping all the details a secret, I couldn't imagine having that much pressure on me to write something. Not only did people want the book as soon as possible but they are expecting so much. She has to answer all the questions that people have had for years and no matter how it ends someone won't be happy about it.

Speaking of writing, now that I'm done rereading all the Harry Potter books, it's probably about time I started actually getting some work done. I haven't actually written any new fiction in a few weeks and I haven't worked on submissions in quite a while. So, hopefully, my next post will be about how I actually got something done.

I would like to suggest a project called Harry Potter and the Ministry of Disinnformation.

I heard reports - for the first time, just the other day - that when people we're waiting in line to buy their copies of HPatHBP, spoilers would drive by and shout "XXXXX DIES AT THE END!", revealing the book's surprise death. Now there are concerns that this will be done on a larger scale this time around, and people are being advised to wear earplugs to avoid hearing spoilers.

My plan is this: In the event of a Spoiler Attack, everyone should begin shouting out the names of various characters: "GINNY DIES!" "HAGRID DIES!" "RON AND HERMIONE DIE!" "HARRY AND VOLDEMORT KILL EACH OTHER!" Litter the air with so much moise that the spoiler's signals can't get through.'

Same in the blogosphere. There will be plenty of people trying to spoil the surprises as soon as they become available. So why not start filling the Internet with false rumors now, to at least buy a little time for those slower readers?

"HERMIONE HAS BEEN IN CAHOOTS WITH VOLDEMORT THE WHOLE WHILE!"
"DUMBLEDORE SWAPPED PLACES WITH HIS BROTHER THE BARTENDER RIGHT BEFORE HE GOT KILLED!"
"VOLDEMORT IS REALLY HARRY'S FATHER!"
"DOBBY IS THE KEY TO EVERYTHING!"
"SIRIUS WAS REALLY A BAD GUY!"
"THE CHARGES AGAINST THE DEATH EATERS WERE TRUMPED-UP!"

Enough of this noise out there, and people won't know what to believe. For a little while.

Did you and Tiffany go to the same IMAX theater? Or are there IMAX theaters all over the place out there?

That's actually a pretty good idea. I do have this horrible fear that someone is going to yell out what happens as I walk to my car. I'm thinking of making someone else go and get it for me.
I really can't understand why people want to yell out what happens, post it online everywhere and wear it on t-shirts.
The worst part is that they are spoiling it for the kids. Harry Potter books have done something amazing by getting kids to put down their Playstation controller and read. And jerks have to ruin it for them.

I don't think Tiffany and I went to the same Imax. I went to one right here in Lansing and she probably went to one closer to where she lives.
