Al?

I just read an article about J.K. Rowling and found out that the reason she goes by J.K. instead of JoAnne is because her editor thought boys wouldn't read her book if they thought a woman wrote it.
Is this the start of A.L. Shaffier, comic book writer? Hmm...

After taking a few notes from Jenni, I spiced up my flash fiction story and submitted it. We shall see.

Current music: Shakira
Just read: 52-week 6, Nightwing #121, Superman Returns Prequel #2, Ultimate X-Men #71.

You could go by Ash, and get a boost from fans of Aliens and Army of Darkness.

I would hope we were beyond the days of Alice Mary Norton changing her name to Andre, or Mary Anne Evans changing her name to George Eliot, or Alice Sheldon writing as James Tiptree Jr. On the other hand, it's possible that Alfred Joyce Kilmer felt that his poetry would be more widely accepted if people assumed he was a woman - this might be why his poems were published minus his first name.
