A quick update on the chaos that has consumed my week

Okay well this week has been insane. The short version goes that my parents won't talk to me because of a biscuit, I yelled at my boss calling him some pretty not nice things, I missed my best friends wedding reception and I've got about two minutes of sleep since I've been in the hospital with a family member. And did I mention when I finally got home and got a second to write about all this, I'm going to guess that I didn't catch the computer virus on time because my computer got incredibly hot, smelled like it was burning and stopped working. I am now functioning on the old laptop with the missing keys that has been mentioned in previous post that I don't dare look up at this time.

Anyway, amongst all this madness, mostly the hospital part, I have found the occasional few minutes to write. I didn't really have all my novel gear so I haven't been working on any of those. For some reason I felt inspired to write a Christmas story. Maybe I'll have it done in time to submit for the holiday issues of a few literary magazines.

One good thing it's been high in the 70's and raining all week. I'm sorry for those who don't care for it but I'm totally loving it.

And since I'm not sure when my next substantial post will come around, I suggest everyone stop by and read this blog .I really like the current post and the rest of the blog is great as well.

Wow.

I'd like to make a batch of nice hot biscuits and use them to demonstrate why people shouldn't piss off people I think of as friends.

I am so proud of you for ripping into your boss for undermining your authority. Maybe he'll think twice before he does it next time, and the time after that, and the time after that. And he may now respect you a little bit more - for what that's worth.

Once again duty has dictated that you sacrifice your personal happiness for the sake of others. Your willingness to do that when it is called for is one of the reasons I like and admire you so much.

At least you backed up all your important files from the computer recently! It's looking more and more like you'll need to be getting a new, faster, better machine. Prices have come way down lately, and there should be back-to-school sales everywhere.

Good luck with the Christmas story! Remember, one of the greatest Christmas songs ever written ("The Christmas Song" by Irving Berlin) was written poolside in the summer in California by someone who didn't even observe Christmas!

And that totally sucks about Mike Wieringo. Normally I wouldn't know about this sort of thing until it appears in Wizard. Speaking of which, did you read the Michael Turner article in the current issue? Compare and contrast that to the interview with Kevin Smith.

Best luck with the computer and the story. As for everything else, screw 'em!

Eek. I was thinking of "White Christmas". Which is still a very good Christmas song...and was written in Arizona.

(Typo deleted from second comment.)

Damn girl, I hope things get better for you soon and that you can fix your computer. I'll go check that blog out.

Oh, crap. Looks like a virus may just have fried my main computer. At least I have this laptop as backup.

I was just passing by and noticed the linkage to my blog - that is very cool and unexpected Ashley - thanks!

I have to say though; biscuit = intriguing. Not to sound lighthearted about your troubles though - I do hope that they sort themselves out.

It may not seem like much, but I threw up a link on my sidebar to your blog - and I just now noticed you have one on yours too - again, thanks!

I've checked out Best Buy's "Geek Squad" service. $199 for repair and disinfection, computer will be out four to six weeks, and I have no idea if anything is guaranteed. Yay.

Whim-Thanks, I think things are starting to get back on track.

Ian- You're so welcome and thanks in return for the link!
And I'll have to work on getting the biscuit story into writing to share with everyone.
At least I get good writing material out these situations.

D.B.- Thanks for all the support.
I don't even want to know how someone would make that type of demonstration with hot biscuits but thinking about it made me laugh.
And I doubt my boss will respect me but I think he might be slightly scared I'll go crazy again so there's that.
Sorry about your computer. Good luck with the Geek squad. It might be worth it though. I got a guy who came to my house and was fairly cheap and we see how that worked out. Although, I think it was just that I waited too long.
